In dem sog. <a href="http://www.juliusvonbismarck.com/fulgurator/index.html" title="Image Fulgurator"> Image Fulgurator </a> befindet sich anstelle des Films eine Schablone. Ein dahinterliegender Blitz projiziert das Motiv auf der Schablone durch das Objektiv auf eine Fläche. Der Blitz selbst ist mit einem Sensor verbunden, der registriert, wenn ein Blitz einer anderen (normalen) Kamera auslöst und löst gleichzeitig den Blitz des Image Fulgurators aus.
